eTickets.to - Setting Up Your Payment Processing

Show me the money

Overview

When a customer buys a ticket from you the money is paid directly from them into your chosen payment processing account. We support PayPal and Google Checkout currently, with more options coming soon.

Setting up your payment account

Before you can start selling you need to set up your payment account with your chosen processor (or both - you can offer your customers the option of using either if you wish).

Whichever you choose, your customers will be able to pay you with all common credit and debit cards.

Setting up an account is free but payment processors charge a small percentage of each transaction - usually between 1.4% and 3.4% - which they deduct from your revenue before they pay it out to you. You can recoup this cost by adding your own booking fee through eTickets.to

Each processor offers different advantages and is most suitable for different situations.

Google offers fixed, lower fees but only supports US and UK businesses, and $ and £ transactions at present so it's not suitable if you're outside these regions or want to charge in a different currency.

PayPal supports a wide range of currencies but fees start at a higher rate than with Google and then decrease with volume.

Adding your payment account to eTickets.to

Once you have set up your payment account you need to link it to your eTickets.to account.

PayPal

In eTickets.to, enter the email address of your PayPal account into the relevant box (either during your setup process, or afterwards in the Settings > Payment Processing area).

In your PayPal account, go to Profile > Payment Receiving Preferences and check the box next to the 'Block eCheck for website and Smart Logo payments, or German bank transfer'.
This prevents users paying you by bank transfer, which takes up to 5 days for payment to clear and as a result delays tickets being issued.

Google Checkout

In your Google Checkout account, go to Settings > Integration

  • Ensure the 'Shopping Trolley Post Security' option is NOT checked.
  • In the 'API callback URL' box enter: https://www.etickets.to/buy/google.php
  • Set the 'Callback Method' to 'HTML'
  • Copy your Merchant ID and Merchant Key details (in the right hand column) on the same screen
  • See the screenshot below to see how the settings in your Google Checkout account should appear

In your eTickets.to account, enter your Merchant ID and Merchant Key details into the relevant box (either during your setup process, or afterwards in the Settings > Payment Processing area).
