Transitions 2009 Project Management Conference - June 27th, 2009

These days it seems like everything is changing- and not just a minor modification but a fundamental shift: the economy, the political climate, the environment, and even our approach to business are all undergoing complete metamorphosis. Now is the time to address this level of change in project management.

The George Washington University's Project Management Student Association is planning a one day conference that will move beyond the usual discussion of change management to address the signification transformation facing all of us. This event, called Transitions 2009, will feature speakers from the Project Management Institute and the International Project Management Association, along with a round table discussion by alumni from the GW Master's of Science in Project Management program. Other planned activities include a resume building workshop customized for project managers and software demonstrations by cutting edge software vendors.

The central theme of ‘transition’ will focus the day’s events, specifically illustrating how we can cope with, leverage, and even mold radical change in our projects through the use of project management tools, best practices, and learning from the experience of others. We'll also look to the future to provide a vision of what's to come, both for the next generation of project leaders and for the industry itself.
