Tim Penn & The Second Line
Saturday 13th August 9PM
The Ram Jam Club
The
Second Line are quietly gathering a reputation as one of
the top New Orleans R&B outfits around London. If you like Professor
Longhair, Dr John, Allen Toussaint, James Booker, Huey Smith and The Clowns,
then this is one band you won’t want to miss. In Tim’s own words “This is the
blues, but with a great big smile on its face”.
Tim Penn is one of the most ‘in demand’ keyboard players on
the roots, songwriter & blues scenes. Going back to the 1970s, he was a
member of Dorris Henderson’s Eclection and also the Kevin
Coyne band alongside Andy Summers (The Police) and Gordon Smith (Described by
John Peel as ” The foremost white Blues guitarist in the world “). Nowadays he
can also be found playing piano
with The Cadillac Kings (“The U.K.’s finest purveyors of blues & swing”
Blues in Britain Magazine) and with The John O’Leary / Alan Glen All Stars at
The Bull’s Head In Barnes at their monthly residency at The Bull’s Head in
Barnes.
“Scintillating piano-based artistry” Blues In The North West.
I've attached an A4 crop of the high res photo I sent earlier plus a couple of
others - trying to get the band together for a photo shoot is a nightmare...
Hope this will do...
