Expeditions Core Skills Course - September

Set in the heart of beautifully wild and rugged Dartmoor, this set of training courses is designed to cover all the core skills you need to either create and run your own expeditions or take part in an Ice Warrior expedition.

They can be taken individually or booked as a series, which most people do, with £50 discount - £1200.

1. Expedition Planning, Funding & Fitness - 29/30 September £250

Safety Planning, Logistics, Equipment, Sponsorship, Materials, Budgeting, Physical Preparation

2. Navigation & Campcraft I – 1/2 October £250

Revision of Basics, Maps and Projections, GPS basics and advanced,

Natural indicators, Sun Navigation, Tents - Siting, Features' Stoves, Cooking, Ablutions, etc.

3. Technical Rope Work & Campcraft II – 3/4 October £250

Rope knowledge and use, Knot tying, Belaying, Rescue basics, Use in difficult terrain, Hauling and pulleys, Securing camps, Multi use of kit, Shelter improvisation

4. Medic I - Rescue Emergency Care 2 – 5/6 October £250

5. Medic II - Rescue Emergency Care 4+ with polar unit – 7/8 October £250

All courses include 2 nights accommodation, meals (not on first, arrival night), specialist equipment and course notes.

I will be your course director and instructor for the first 6 days bringing in Ric Winter for some excellent medical training.
